Berthoud High Students in Mr. Robb Sommerfeld's Construction 1 class made the Plan of Procedure for the MInd Game wood project.Berthoud High School students made a woodworking tutorial for the Plan of Procedure for the wood project called "Mind Game". Some of the wood is culled lumber, Pine Beetle kill, or can come from deconstructed structures in the local area worked on by the National Center for Craftsmanship. The students learn about how to do wood working sustainably. All of the students in Construction 1 are beginning wood workers and have had only two weeks to work on this project at the beginning of the semester. This includes learning about Plan of Procedure, storyboards, Flip digital video camera use, digital video editing and uploading. All of this combines to make for rich experiential learning. STUDENTS: The wood used was pine board that is 3/4"hx 6" w. Loosen the nut on the rail lock for the miter saw so you can make a full cut. KEEP FINGERS AT LEAST 4" AWAY FROM ALL MOVING PARTS!!! Set the depth gauge on the drill press to the proper depth for all of the holes. Sand with the grain with 600 grit sand paper. Make sure you knock down the sharp edges with the sand paper. Use the veg. oil or mineral oil on this project since small children may come in contact with the game. You will need to supply your own golf tees or pegs.
